چکیده

This paper proposes ameans of using stochastic diffusion processes to model the total consumption of electrical power (including distribution and transport losses) inMorocco, as recorded by the official data for total sales published by Office Nationale de l’Électricité (ONE), the Moroccan electricity authority. Two models of univariate stochastic diffusion were used: the time-homogeneous Gompertz Diffusion Process (HGDP) and the time-non-homogeneous Gompertz Diffusion Process (NHGDP). The methodology proposed is based on the analysis of the trend function; this requires the analyst to obtain fits and forecasts for the consumption of electrical power by means of the estimated trend function (conditioned and non-conditioned). This latter function is obtained from the mean value of the process and the maximum likelihood estimators (MLE) of the parameters of the model. This estimation and the subsequent statistical inference are based on the discretised observation of the variable ‘‘electricity consumption in Morocco’’, using annual data for the period 1980–2001. The fit and forecast are improved by using macroeconomic exogenous factors such as the gross domestic product per inhabitant (GDP/inhab), the final domestic consumption (FDC) and the gross fixed capital formation (GFCF). The results obtained show that NHGDP, (with the above three exogenous factors) provides an adequate fit and medium-term forecast of electricity consumption in Morocco. 2005 Elsevier Ltd. The Effect of Change in Electricity Tariffs on Electricity Consumption and Macroeconomic Variables With Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) Approach

The purpose of this article is to investigate the impact of electricity tariffs in the domestic and industrial sectors on electricity consumption and macroeconomic variables. In this regard, statistical data for the period 1991-2020 based on seasonal frequency and dynamic stochastic general equilibrium approach (DSGE) have been used. In this study, it is assumed that there is a section in the h...

Impacts of Human Factors on Willingness to Use Renewable Energy Sources in Iran and Morocco

Currently Iran and Morocco are going through an energy transition. Ambitious plans exist at international, regional and national governance levels to deploy renewable energy sources (RES), such as concentrated solar power (CSP) and photovoltaic (PV) solar power. These plans foresee deployment of RES to cover local growing energy needs, to diversify energy supply and to benefit from electricity ...

Electricity Procurement for Large Consumers with Second Order Stochastic Dominance Constraints

This paper presents a decision making approach for mid-term scheduling of large industrial consumers based on the recently introduced class of Stochastic Dominance (SD)- constrained stochastic programming. In this study, the electricity price in the pool as well as the rate of availability (unavailability) of the generating unit (forced outage rate) is considered as uncertain parameters. Th...

Performance evaluation of Iranian electricity distribution units with stochastic Data Envelopment Analysis

Performance evaluation of electricity distribution units is an important issue between researchers and regulators. Classic Data Envelopment Analysis models with deterministic data have been used by many authors to measure efficiency of power distribution units in different countries. However, Data Envelopment Analysis with stochastic data are rarely used to measure efficiency of distribution co...
